Analytics & Risk Management

Western Asset's Analytics/Risk Management Group provides critical support while ensuring the integrity of all data throughout the entire firm. The group performs data analysis throughout the trading day, across multiple offices in multiple countries with thorough review of portfolio holdings. Our team uses a comprehensive set of risk systems to monitor portfolio concentration and exposures to various sectors, securities, duration levels, and changes in the yield curve. The team also regularly performs scenario analyses including stress-testing, sensitivity, and worst case to analyze portfolio exposure to various market factors.

Client Service

Western Asset's client service is a central focus at the company. Client service executives work closely with the company's portfolio managers to communicate investment strategies to clients, monitor portfolios, support reporting requirements and to respond to requests for information and research. Client service associates provide administrative and technical support to the executives by facilitating client reporting, communication and publications.

Enterprise Solutions

Western Asset’s Enterprise Solutions mission is to identify and solve complex cross functional challenges. The group is made up of 3 functional teams. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assesses and reports on the risk to each department if their goals and objectives are not met. Enterprise Data Management (EDM) manages key data sets and supports the firm’s data governance initiatives with the goal of improving the manner by which each department manages its data. Global Account Transitions (GAT) coordinates each department’s efforts to analyze new and changing client requirements and is responsible for ensuring that client information and client operating requirements are obtained and stored within Western’s systems.

Finance & Accounting

Western Asset's Finance & Accounting department has many opportunities for those experienced in finance and/or accounting. Positions encompass the areas of cash management, financial analysis, financial and strategic planning, financial reporting, tax, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Human Resources

Western Asset's Human Resources department provides assistance to Western Asset employees in areas such as recruitment, learning and development, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), policy origination and administration, compensation, benefits, performance appraisals, and employee relations. Opportunities exist for individuals looking to enhance or develop their human resource skills or demonstrate current skills and qualifications by assisting the organization through the use of effective human resource practices.

Information Technology

Western Asset's Information Technology department supports and strives to continually improve the company's business-driven systems. The team of highly skilled professionals is versed in all aspects of IT services including systems architecture, application design and development, third party system implementation, project management, database design, network administration and telecommunications.

Investment Support

Western Asset's Investment Support department employs highly motivated individuals with advanced computer skills who have experience in fund administration, trade processing and settlements. Specialists perform treasury functions, process client trades including derivatives transactions; manage data including security master files, pricing and corporate actions; handle account transfers; reconcile daily entries; liaise with custodian banks and transfer agents; and support other administrative functions.

Legal & Compliance

Western Asset's Legal & Compliance department consists of individuals whose primary focus is to ensure that the company, its agents and employees conduct business in compliance with industry regulations, client guidelines, and company policy as well as provide ongoing advice and pro-active recommendations regarding legal and regulatory matters binding on Western Asset and its employees. Members of the Legal and Compliance team work very closely with other departments, including portfolio management, client service and investment support.

Portfolio Management/Research

Western Asset's investment team is comprised primarily of individuals with extensive experience managing fixed income portfolios. The senior team is made up of seasoned professionals who possess both broad knowledge of the fixed income markets as well as concentrated expertise in specific sectors or functional disciplines such as mortgages, corporates, derivatives and analytics. Other positions include research analyst, trade support specialist and administrative liaison.

Administrative & Office Services

Western Asset's professional support staff consists of individuals who possess strong computer, communication and organizational skills. Growth is achieved by demonstrating ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while successfully providing crucial support in completing projects.
